Dicho sistema cl\u00e1sico tiene la gran desventaja de generar un bloqueo en las llantas cuando la cantidad de presi\u00f3n que se les aplica es demasiado alta, lo cual es t\u00edpico en un frenado de emergencia.<\/p>\n<p>Tal bloqueo de las llantas se puede denominar contraproducente y peligroso, pues el veh\u00edculo comienza a derrapar y deslizarse, haciendo que se pierda el control de la direcci\u00f3n, la estabilidad del veh\u00edculo y la efectividad del frenado.<\/p>\n<p>Pensando en esto, los ingenieros implementaron un control de presi\u00f3n en los pistones, los cuales, al frenar, tienen la capacidad de reducir su fuerza progresivamente si una de las llantas tiene una velocidad diferente a las dem\u00e1s, lo que puede interpretarse como un bloqueo de la rueda.<\/p>\n<p>Este control se activa por medio de unos sensores de velocidad de giro, ubicados en cada rueda, y electrov\u00e1lvulas que modifican la presi\u00f3n de frenado en cada llanta cuando hay una importante disminuci\u00f3n de velocidad. El desgaste de las llantas es menor, pues cada bloqueo del sistema de frenos cl\u00e1sico se traduce como un desgaste abrupto que disminuye su vida \u00fatil. Con ABS los neum\u00e1ticos entran en contacto con el asfalto y generan la tracci\u00f3n suficiente para detener el veh\u00edculo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>El riesgo de sufrir un accidente es menor. Estudios demuestran que los veh\u00edculos con Sistema ABS tienen hasta un 35% menos de posibilidad de chocar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>La complejidad. Los sistemas ABS cuentan con una unidad de control a la cual llegan los datos de velocidad registrados por los sensores de cada rueda y, con base en estos, toma decisiones de frenado y liberaci\u00f3n de la llanta.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Distancia de frenado. El sistema antibloqueo permite que a distancias cortas se pueda detener por completo el auto.
